Make sure your dealer checks the front differential and clutches at the 60 hour check-up. The oil is supposed to be changed! Mine did not!

Now my 2010 Mule trans with 200 hours is at a different dealer with a POP or KLUNK in the front end. I see this as an expensive oversite on my part and the orginal dealer, and I am sure Kawasaki is going to say ....TOO BAD CHARILIE.

Guess Mules are not bullet proof!

My 610 just turned over 100....I guess I know what I'll be doing this weekend.

Are there any tricks / suggestions to getting this job done... Looks kinda tight to get in there at the fill plug....

Gotter Done, The actual filler plug and Drain plug configuration does not look like what is in the service manual...Hopefully I did it right. Drained and filled to bottom of fill plug...

My Mule is still at the dealers and I haven't heard anything. However, I found this information; The popping is somewhat normal, as long as the cables are adjusted properly and there is nothing wrong inside the trans. The Mule was never designed as a full-time 4wd unit, and that 4x4 mode should only be used when needed-not when driving it on hard packed surfaces or paved surfaces when it's not really needed. It seems Kawasaki has built in protection aganist 4WD "wind up". This problem started for me after I put on new, more agressive, rubber.

My post was to alert Mule oweners that the front differential and maybe the transmission oil is supposed to be changed at the first service, 60 hours. The instruction manual and the service manual are vague on both points. AND dealers seem to be vague too! jeffandtamara did the right thing......."if you want something done right, do it yourself"
