87 mojave questions?

hi guys just found this site and i was wondering if anyone could tell me if an 87 mojave has any kind of compression release on it. i'm buying one tommorrow that has no compression even thou i'm buying with the intention of haveing to rebuild it i got to thinking if it could be something stupid like the release stuck open or even the timing jumped. and since i haven't bought the manual on it whats quicker then to ask someone who might know. so thanks for any input and i'm sure i'll be around this site alot as i bring this quad back to life. since i bought my kids a kv75 last summer i figure it's time i have somthing to ride with them...lol

Hey Jason,just found this forum myself.Did you get the mojave going yet ?
It should not have a release as far as I know,I have an 01,and jumped timing may not be it either.I had the same problem with mine after I bought mine used and it wound up being a broken valve spring and bent valve,because it occurred while I was thrashing it so I bent the valve.oooopppppssss.later j

The 87 does have a release. it's located on the exhaust cam and if the spring is week or missing, It could cause your problem...

Does anywone know where i could find a mojave bottom end for a cheap price?
