Can anyone please help. I have 92 Kawa Bayou 220, starts fairly easy, idle is erratic. when I rev it, RPM's linger, doesn't drop back down to idle speed rapidly like it should. As RPM's gradually drop it will pop and backfire through exhaust and/or carb. Blows no smoke. I have rebuilt carb to get rid of same problem. I have a feeling this is something simple, probably an adjustment of somekind. Thanks in advance for the help.

Thanks- There was a problem with the cable being too tight, (handle bars turn and speed would increase), fixed that. what are you referring to when you say "slider"? the big needle that is in the middle of the carb connected to the cable? The book calls for the needle clip on that to be at "2", but it doesn't tell me to count slots starting at the bottom or starting from the top, so I may have it set at 2 or it may be set at 4. Thanks

always set the clip on needle from top to bottom (#1 on top and then down from there)
good find on the cable being to tight. from the description i would have thought of it being to lean. |
