I have a 2006 610 Mule 4X4 and was wondering when anyone else did their first valve adjustment? I have 26 hours on mine. How important is this valve adj. and is it really needed? Does it effect you warranty?

i did my own at 46 hrs(50hrs is recommended)...i had noticed a substancial power loss from when it was new..all you need are some feeler gauges and a new valve cover gasket if i remember right...if you don't have a service manual yet, get one...they are very good with lots of pictures..the adjustment is easy to do and i had found that my exhaust valve lash was way out...i got it back within spec and all the power came back...the valve lash adjustment seems very important on these motors...
as far as warranty, i don't know...i keep my maintenance receipts for the work i do...no need for warranty work yet... i usually try to fix things myself...i get all my parts right here from Beartooth(they give us a discount).. |
