    Default Prairie 400 2wd steering

Anyone know of a stabilizer I can use for my 2001 prairie 400 2wd. Steering is very loose.
Tie rods and associated hardware is tight.
Is there an adjustment in the stem i can make. Any help appreciated.

Did you take it in for the recall yet?

I have a 2002 400 2x4 and the steering is nice and tight.
I'll take a look at it in the morning.

But there is a recall from last year on the ball joints!

I took it in for the knuckle/shock carrier recall. The ball joint had fallen out of the shock carrier on the trail, replaced parts from kawi. A year later the recall comes out, but I'm still out $200 for replaced parts plus almost took a tumble. That was a nitemare. Both knuckles, bearings replaced. Alot more stable but very loose.

If you sit and turn the wheel how much will it turn before the wheels start to turn?
Ill look at mine and try to figure out how to tighten things.

There is very little "play" in the steering, but the steering on whole is very lite and succeptible (sp?) to "bump steer". Looking for some sort of stiffener or damper.

How many lbs of air you running in the tires? I run around 5-10lbs dirt 5 max for sand.

Too much air will make it feel light.

I do think it might me your air pressure.
On a sticker on the rear drivers fender it says not to exceed 5lbs air pressure.
The "stock tires" says 36lps max pressure.
Just for GP I just put my pressure to 30lps and scared the cr@p out of me.

    Totally diff bike.

Also I looked VERY good at all the steering and do not see anything that would dampen or make turning less tight than reducing air pressure in the tires.

    I may be wrong.
