I Got A Klf300c, What Does The "c" Stand For? And How Do I Know If My Quad Is A "bayou Or A Lakota?

Ok C= Year of Manufacture.
KLF 300 C1 is a 1989 through to a KLF 300 C17 which is a 2005 Model.

Difference between Lakota & Bayou i have not a clue

thanx for the rely but, there is no numbers after the letter "C" what does that means? the guy i got it off says its a 1996 model KLF300C, is that correct?

If the Guy said it was a 1996 then it will be a KLF 300C8 Model.

The 8 is the year it was manufactured 1996, It seems weird but that's how it works.

I also have a klf300c and im looking to see what year it is but the only 2 places where it says the model number klf 300c it dosnt give any number after c. Is there another way to find out the year?

I can see this is an old thread but it fits my problem.

A KLF300C is 4WD Bayou with a 300cc engine. A KLF300B would be a 2WD Bayou.

As others have already stated, the number following the "C" indicates the year of manufacture. For example, I have 1995 300 4x4 Bayou, and the model number is KLF300C7. A 1996 would be a KLF300C8, and so on.

The model number should be on the frame up front somewhere, as I recall, but it's been a while since I've looked for it.

Hey all, sorry to thread jack but I'm new and it sounds like there has been resonses from knowledgeable kawasaki folks on this thread...

I have a 4x4 KLF 300C. I also have a 2x4 KLF 300A. Call anyone tell me if the motors are interchangable on these bikes. I posted a thread but haven't gotten a response. Can anyone help, ha ha!
