hi-
i have an older 2510 gasser mule. i would like to change out the old thermostat as i suspect it may have failed/be failing. no temp guage, but after short driving, an anti-freeze smelling cloud follows me! have owners manual, but no maintenance manual. thanks in advance....... lakeside |

The thermostat is on the rear cylinder head on the right side of the engine. The thermostat housing has a large black hose coming out of it; I think the metal tube the follows the hose has the bleeder screw on it.
By the was check the weep hole at the base of the water pump. It is located on the left side of the engine near the front cylinder head. Its partly hidden by the inner converter cover. A failing thermostat probably won't cause a leak , so I'd suggest looking for loose clamps, gaskets, etc. |
