2003 Diesel Mule has coolant in Oil

Hey guys, i d like your opinion on what to start repairing on my diesel mule.
Its an 03. The Mule just started leaking coolant into the oil. I have a foamy stuff under the oil cap and on the dip stick. i drained the coolant, removed the water pump and i see a little rust in side the head. could this just be a gasket problem on the water pump. or a bad water pump? or head gasket ? Any thoughts on where to start.

Did you have a visual loss of coolant in the reservoir ? Otherwise it can be just moisture alot of motors do that. If you are seeing a visual loss I would be betting Head gasket or Head. I not sure about a mule but I doubt the water pump is oil lubricated. So it shouldn't be able to get coolant in the oil. that should be a water jacket behind the water pump so rust scale is normal.

i read in this forum about a 2500 mule that had coolent in the oil, and he said some thing about the water pump, or crank case gasket. you got me, i dont see how coolent could get in there.
any one have a good web site for parts ?

you could try a different forum for answers kawiriders.com they seem to have more people on there as far as atv i think they have a mule forum too. I think they may be able to answer your ????.
I would think it was most likely headgasket but if the motor has wet cylinder liners the o rings could be leaking.

Head gasket would be my first suspicion.

figured id give an update. i drained the oil last night, its only a week old, its milky colored with grey streeks. removed the valve cover, there was a grey goo stuck all on the under side. and on the valve springs. its probable too much to be considered condensation. so head removal is my next step. we will see whats under there by the weekend.
