Usually when you go higher with the tires you also go a little wider I think I went up a couple inches but I also went wider front and rear and the rims I bought were offset more than the stock rims so it gave me a wider stance. Although I didn't lift it and anything beyond 25 or 26's wouldn't really be any good on a trail

That's good to hear and thanks for letting me know. I decided not to buy chains and try plowing without them to see how it goes. I'd think it will work fine without them since it's a heavier ATV and the 4-wheel drive should work fine.

Well, finally got to use the snow plow, but it wasn't on snow. Had to level an area for some storage sheds and the travel trailer and did it with the quad. Worked really well and didn't take much time either. Good thing as I did the level job yesterday and it is been snowing since. Still have the plow mounted to play in the white stuff now

I was really impressed with that quad and plow. Actually cut down 18" across the backside of those sheds. Did bury the quad one time and had to yard it out of the sand with the truck.

I leveled my base for my shed also I brought in 5 tons of 1/4 granite and it work well But I did use something to put extra weight on the blade.
That reallly is a shame that the bike have to get snowed on. that was the whole purpose of why I built my shed. was accumalating to many toys and could fit my truck in my garage any longer. I have only had to plow a couple inches so far myself , luckily cause when I went out to the atv the winch was no longer working in the down postion. spent a couple hours fixing some wiring.

Having a whole new shop being built (much larger) to fix that snow stuff.
The only prob I had was the cable crimp kept sliding into the fairlead. Had to get off the quad and fix that a few times, but otherwise I was really impressed how well it pushed that sand around. Did you make something to put that weight down on the blade?

I was thinking about making something but never got around to it. so I just used a large boulder at the time and I also bolted down my blade so it wouldn't trip.
If I did more dirt plowing with it I would make something where I could stack weight on it. I just do not really have that need it was a one time thing and cheaper than renting a bobcat and easier than doing it by hand

I have to figure out how to keep the blade from coming up to high and messing that cable crimp up though.

Thanks, Cary, but that is what I currently have. That cable crimp is maybe 7/16 diameter and just squeezes between the rollers and is a real pain to get back out when the weight of the plow is on it.
I had read someplace of a spring type contraption that is available which will stop that from happening, but it requires all the cable to come off the wench in order to slide that spring on.

I found even with a roller fairlead it still gets caught when I switch to a synthetic rope instead of the wire one .It came with a piece of rubber about 3 inches wide and 2 inches deep . I forget what the actually purpose is ( i think its to prevent it from snagging something when reeling it in) anyway it prevents it from going to for now. That only works with the hook on it.
when plowing I use a quick clip, the thing that looks like a c that has a nut built into it, instead of a hook. when i use that the plow can go up high enough to suck the cable crimp into the fairlead.

You could take a hockey puck or some sort of hard rubber ball and put a slotted hole in it so you can get it over the eyelit and once over give it a spin so it stays in place . it would n't allow it past the fairlead and also being rubber would give it a little give so that you know you reached the stop and it won't damage anything.

Cabela's -- ATV Winch Saver
This is the idea mine is basically hard rubber this one states its plastic. I could get mine on without taking the wire rope of I am unsure about this one search winch savers.
