Hi there. Recently purchased myself a Bayyou KLF 300. Everything seems to be working fine other than when you give it anymore than half throttle it coughs an splutters and doesnt wanna go anywhere. Had carb out and cleaned it loads of times. checked exhaust, plug fuel lines but cant seem to figure it out. Any help would be grately appreciated. Many Thanks

I know this may sound a little silly but, The guy I bought mine from had taken it to 3 different (fairly well known - reputable) shops. The last one told him he needed a new carb after tearing it down 3 times. I have been working on carbs for a long time and it even took me a few times to realize what he had done. He had gotten the jets switch around, and had the needle installed on top of the holder in the vacc. chamber. If you are pos. that these are all ok, the other thing I found, (and am sure I caused), while blowing the carb out, a plug at the top of the primary jet had blown out. This caused the same symtoms you desc.... Make sure both jets are right (larger jet with needle) and the factory inst. plug at the top of the smaller jet tube is there. after talking to a few people I found out that this plug is very easy to blow out with too much pressure being used. I cleaned the area very well with emery paper and scuffed it with a pick and used a dab of JB weld to fill, and let it set up for about 48 hrs. before reinstalling.

hello lewy300, when you clean out the carb did you take the air flow screw out and clean that out also and if so did you put it back in with all the orings and metal washer in the correct order?and also have you adjusted the air flow screw properly?start out by getting the screw to seat and then back it out 1 1/2 turns to start withit does idle fine?oh yeah what year is your machine.also do you have fresh fuel in the tank.but by hte sounds of things have you also checked the diophram on the top side of the carb to see it it has holes or cracking on it.and is your float level right that would cause this also, and a weak or bad battery will also give you fits like this also.hope this little bit of info helps out -corey-

Between the two of us, we covered just about everything. One other thought is the Intake manifold (rubber boot to engine) make sure there are no cracks or holes and has a good tight seal around throat of carb...... clean unblocked air filter.....Shadetree
