Anyone have problems with water being trapped in the enclosed belt/clutch area of the drive train in your Mule?
If you drive in water or wash your Mule often, I would recommend that you check this area for water, as it may get trapped and will burn your belt and clutch. Kawasaki will not warranty this repair, which will cost approximately $1.300.00. If anyone has this problem or found water trapped in this area of the drive train, please send me a PM. LSU |

Water trapped in the belt housing is a common problem for all ATV's and UTV's, no matter the manufacturer - except the John Deere's that run the belt in the open. Most people that ride in a great deal of water pull the housings apart and use silicone sealant to make new gaskets, then check all the vents to be sure they are properly connected.
Once they are properly sealed the Mules tend to stay dry unless you really dunk one in deep water. The ATV's have shorter snorkel assemblies and tend to get wet more often. If you have been riding in hot weather and then dunk one in water colder than the air, it is always a good idea to pop the cover and check for any trapped water. It is also a good idea to drive the Mule after it has been in water to allow the fan to blow any water vapor out of the system before it condenses and forms pools in the housing.
