Default stupid question

should the oil level on the side sight glass be on the full mark while running or while turned off ?

Not a stupid question. The best way to check oil is to do it before starting with the oil in the middle of the glass. Then start and run it three minutes, and then check it again in one minute. That way you know you are full.

They say there is no such thing as a stupid question. Check your oil when it's off. Got any more stupid questions?

theres no such thing as a stupid question just stupid answers, the manual will tell you how much oil is suppose to be used in a motor or call your local dealer and they will tell how much oil it takes with or with out filter change most bayous take about 2 1/2 gts to fill with filter change and when they are running you will no see oil in the glass it is being pumped around the engine and trans -corey-
