Hey guys, I have a 1990 Mojave 250 that keeps stalling out when the bike gets wet. This has never happened before ever. It will die out and will not kick over for a few mins. When it does start, it will die when you even tap the throttle? I have checked everything I can, there's no water in the oil, gas or air box/filter. When it dries off it works fine. I have sprayed it with a hose near the spark plug area and it shuts down. It does have a new coil and plug, but I didn't think that it would be those due to it dying when the throttle is applied? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have invested so much money into this bike, and it would kill me to sell this due to being so frustrated, then to find out it could have been a real simple repair. Thanks Guys.

Sounds like water is getting into the electrical connectors and killing the spark energy at the coil. Take the tank off and get some spray electrical contact cleaner that's safe for plastic parts and spray your connectors and fuse clips. Moisture is getting in and no current is flowing, also check the switches in the handle bars as they get wet and corrode.

hello .hows the plug wire does it screw into the coil? if so make sure its tight and for the connetors remove em all and apply a bit of die electric greas to them and put back to there locations the die electric grease will keep water off of the connectors i use heat shrenk tubing on my connecters to seal em up but when i have to srevice it i have to cut the tubeing off and do it all over again buit its well worth it no water intrusions or corrosion but die electis grease will serfice but also if that plug wire is a screw in type get a spray bottle and spray just the wire and see if it dies or spark jumps out of it if you want to see the spark beeter if its the wire faulty use 2 table spoons of salt in a small spray bottle and shake it up well then spray the wire salt water conducts electricty more than plain water so itll find the weak wire if it so -corey-
