Default no spark

I have a new battery and I load tested it and it checks out good. Also if I use the pull starter I don't get any spark.

Tonight I checked the ohms of the stator and its within spec and it produces 35vac which is what it should.I took my spare crank trigger and held it next to the pull start gear and turned the engine over with the startermotor and it sparks great. any idaes?

Hi bbopp - i'm having deja vu here - I have exactly the same problem on my KLF300 - very much a co-incidence, dont ya think?

I thought it was the cdi - but you say you've changed that and no change?

and can you expand more on what you said here pls:

"I took my spare crank trigger and held it next to the pull start gear and turned the engine over with the startermotor and it sparks great"

I hold my spare pulse coil next to my pullstart gear and i also get spark when i turn motor over.....unplug and go back to the correctly mounted pulse coil and i get nothing....this is getting pretty crazy, tried 2 other pulse coils, same result.....anyone got some other ideas?Ive already tried all the obvious things like kill switches, main switch,etc...thanks in advance,Randy

Tried ground, mine is good, tried ac voltage on black/blue pulse wires...voltage stays constant with no pulse whatsoever......hookup my external pulser, hold near the pullstart gear, and get pulsing voltage....switched the two around, still the same results....possibly 2 bad pulse coils? Any ideas? Thanks,Randy

your holding the the other pulser on the out side of the case and not to the fly wheel? is that right? makes me wonder if your magnets on the fly wheel fell off or misisng...... you took a test light to the coil it self and no pulse there?but if youh old the wire /pulser maybe you are makein the wires inside the harness touch.read that other post i just posted that you have goin .maybe try massaging the wires while its all hooked up and see if you get the spark back.you have spark at the plug when you are holding the other pulser outside of the case?-corey-sorry i am trying to visualize what you are doin so i can help out in gettin spark back

Yes thats correct...If i plug in my pulser and hold close to pull start gear, its really not a gear, but its what your pull start meshes with,i get good hot pulsing spark,im assuming the pulsing comes from the air gaps on the starter piece.....on my flywheel there is a raised, almost chrome looking strip of metal approx 3/8 of an inch wide by about an inch or so that passes by the pulser,if thats a magnet, everything on the fly wheel is acting magnetic. Thanks,Randy

well that "chrome piece of metal" is supposed to be blackish in color thats where the magnet suppose to be.everytime that magnet comes around it sparks ounce every revolution.have you pull the case off yet and inspected that magnet it may have fell of and magnetizeing the hole thing except where it needs to be (at the pulser)-corey-
