The rear drive shafts have been pretty much the same for years, and involve pulling the rear hub assembly, and then the rear suspension bracket from the springs so you can shift the shaft enough to get it out/in the rear bearing assemblies.
Take a look at the parts diagrams for both the hub assembly, the suspension, and the rear drive shaft assembly on Kawasaki.com. That gives a decent visual perspective of what is involved in removing and replacing a broken shaft. The biggest hurdle is usually the splines on the hubs if they have been allowed to rust to the axle.

I got the broken part of the splined shaft pulled out and need to order a new shaft, but I can't seem to locate the tag with the VIN# and year. The model is 3010 if I remember correctly and it is 4 wheel drive.
