Anyone know of a decent, hard plastic windshield, quick install/ removal, preferrably two pieces so the bottom half can be on without the top if desired .... but not the soft roll-able kind?
I already have a soft plastic one that rolls up out of the way, but it's so wrinkled when I put it down I can't see worth a flip. Nice and warm but can't see where I'm going without sticking my head out to look around it. Tks |

I suppose "decent" is the catch word, I am not sure any plastic windshields are really that good as they all scratch if you ride in mud, dust, brush, outdoors, etc., but they do work well sitting in the shop.
Cabella's has a folding plastic windshield that is from polycarbonate, the same stuff as plastic eyeglasses. It is around $400, and suffers from hinge failure where the polycarbonate is glued to the flexible boat window stuff in the center. The best inexpensive plastic windshield I ever saw was one a guy made from that rigid stuff they sell for storm windows at Lowes. He uses chain link fence pipe clamps to hold it to the roll bar, and it works pretty well. He keeps it coated with Pledge furniture polish, and always soaks it water then sprays on the Pledge and dries it off with a terry towel before and after every use, and it was still going after about six years. I expect I will see it again this year during the winter elk season.
