Default 02 Prairie Not Firing?

This is a project bike but everything seems to be fine on it! It cranks over, has spark, smells like its getting fuel but no firing. If i leave the throttle open for just a couple of seconds it will back fire a little bit. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be or what to try?

hello well first id check compression ,if it is low it will not generate enough pressure to make a boom, if the compression is over 120 then id ajust the valve lash, maybe the valves are hangin open just a bit to much, this would cause low comp also. but i suspect maybe the timing is off a bit-corey-

It very well could be the timing! I tried to set it but couldn't find the TB or TF marks on the generator. Is there another way to set the timing or do you have to go by those marks. I set both sides at full compression when I did it. Do you need a special tool to check compression? Thanks for your help you guys are awesome!

yea, you need to go bye the tester gauge itll come with adapters to fit your plug thread. itll run like 30 -100 depnding on what kit you get ,and you may have to get some cleaner and clean the fly wheel off due to grud build up. the marks are stamped on the flywheel, just dirt etc builds up and fills those marke in and make it a pain to see em.non choleanted brake parts cleaner will do nicely, for it does not leave a film on the parts -corey-
