Default 2008 3010 trans 4x4 diesel winch

Just bought a 2008 3010 trans 4x4 diesel. Looking to add a winch (thinking about the Warn rt40. Where can I get the winch mount for this winch/utv combination? Is this a good combination to go with? Am a newby to utv's and winches. Any suggestions and help will be apprecicated.

Kawasaki sells the correct adaptor plate to fit the most of the little Warn winches on a Trans Diesel for around $70. I would visit the dealer and take a good look at the mounting and dimensions of the winch to be sure it will clear with the plate they sell.

There are a number of winches available that work very well on the Mule, but unless you have the skills and tools to fabricate the mount, I would stick with what Kawasaki sells. Most Kawasaki dealers carry the Superwinch and the Warn - both are good winches.

I would suspect you can get a discount if you try the site sponsor.

You can get just as good of winches from many other sources, some are priced under $100, but building or adapting a mount will be your challenge.

Default winch

Hi fredbar

I put an rt40 on my 2008 trans diesel it works great but the adaptor plate from kawasaki is designed for a warn rt35. the bolt pattern and offset is different then an rt40. I bought the plate but ended up redrilling it and modifing how it mounts.
so if you want an easer install stick with the rt35.
if you still want the rt40 I suggest making your own plate.
you will also need the kawasaki cable roller guides as the warn guides will not fit the grill guard. I really like my diesel and have used the winch alot more then i thought i would mainly pulling out other vehicles that were stuck or that fell over( 79 ford f250 that didnt make it around the corner on all 4)

Good luck and enjoy
Tww
