If you are running on one cylinder it is likely either a pulsing coil (they are replaced as a pair), an ignition coil, the valves are loose on the missing cylinder, or you have a bad plug.

The wiring harness on these is such that if power is to one coil, it will also be to the other coil.

I really recommend you purchase the service and repair manual. These rigs are just about bulletproof if they are properly maintained. But, without the book it is easy to nuke the Igniter by grounding an excited wire by accident, or by grinding on the starter with the plug wires disconnected.

The cost of a new Igniter could buy you many service and repair manuals.

Interestingly enough and thank you for your reply, I checked the pickup coils and had trouble getting a reading, and then tried a little more only to see a lot of corrosion on the terminals, so maybe my test of the igniter is wrong and a failed pickup coil is stopping the second coil from sparking, either way I will test it tomorrow after cleaning the terminals. I really need to replace the entire harness, but I did solidly repair the many cuts I had so those are good, so if this fixes it and things are good, I will then go back and do the harness. I would be thrilled if it wasn't the coil. Thanks for the help I will let you know.

I am still amazed that this machine ran so well just one one cylinder so it will be nice to see it running on 2!
