I have an 06 1500 Classic FI with 20000 miles on it. i took it out for a ride the other day after being shut down for the winter since early December. After leaving my Buddies place and heading home i noticed the Temp light on after about 6 miles. I pulled over and shut down for 5 minutes. Then went on my way. After about a mile it came on again. I pulled over again, and noticed the neutral light would not come onwhile in neutral. After a couple of minutes i headed home. Only another quarter mile. The temp light didn't come on, so i left it running in my driveway in neutral. This time the neutral light came on. I left it running for 10 minutes to see if temp light would come back on. It didn't. The fan also cut in for a minute and shut off again, so i know thats working. There's lots of coolant in the overflow tank (changed last season).Everything seems back to normal. I don't beleive she ever got hot. Sounds like something going on with the electrical. Anyone ever experience this problem or have any idea what the problem was? Hopefully i'll get a chance to go for another ride soon, weather permitting, to see if it happens again. I'm still under warrranty, so if it happens i'll take it to the dealer.

Inspect and clean all suspicious electrical connections. Corrosion, like rust never sleeps. New battery cables can be made for a few dollars. Go to the nerarest welding supply store and purchase some 8 or 6 gauge welding cable (usually a few feet) this type is very flexible and will fit in tight areas. American Wire Gauge (AWG) is backwards to what people think. 22 gauge is very small but 8 or 6 gauge is a large conductor in comparrison.
Then a visit to a local battery shop for the proper size crimp on terminals. Bring along your old cables for the length, they should be able to make new cables for you at minimum cost. There are two schools of thought about soldering crimped terminal lugs;one mentions the solder will make the joint stiff and later fail and the other said it's o.k. to solder as it makes a better sealed joint.
