Default Front and Rear Scootworks Pulleys Installed

I just wanted to provide the community with some feedback as far as having both SCOOTWORKS overdrive pulleys installed. I don't think anyone in the forum has installed both and reported back. Last year, I installed the front pulley, last night, I installed the rear. I am VERY happy with the outcome I rode the bike into work this morning and was immediately impressed right from the start. The shift range/band has definitely increased.
I never shifted out of 4th and was cruising back roads at about 60MPH and had plenty of RPM's left to stretch out. With only 1 ride under my belt with both pulleys and new Metzeler 880's, only time will tell if I will be truly happy with the modifications (so far, so good). After a few more rides, I will gladly report back and share with you all how I feel then. I didn't want to clog the forum with pictures of removal/install procedures, so if anyone wants help or tips regarding the process, send me a private message and I will be glad to assist you...

SCOOTWORKS includes directions.

Not to mention, if you plan on doing ANY kind of Do-It-Yourself projects, I highly recommend buying a Kawasaki 900 Service Manual...it includes all the pictures you're ever going to need.

The only reason I posted this "worthless" write-up was to let eveyone know that someone out there did both mods. If you search the cruiser forum, the question has been asked numerous times if anybody has replaced both pulleys. To the best of my knowledge, nobody has ever responded.

Did you lose much low end torque with the addition of the rear pully? I have the front and did not notice much difference in torque. Does it smooth the bike out even more at highway speeds?

thx for letting us know you did both pulley mods. i really hope it turns out well. i have been thinking of upgrading to a bigger bike due to the high rpm's, but the prices are outrageous. if the pulleys really work great and it is very smooth on the interstate at 70-80 i will keep my 900 lt and add the pulleys. a mustang seat would be in the works also lol

please keep us updated with low end torque and highway cruising reviews.

Brandon, I just got a mustang seat and it really helps ... you don't feel the vibration on the bike at highway speeds as much.

I have the front pulley and LOVE it!! My question is this: Can I install the 200 rear tire with the front pulley?? I thought I read a post stating that the belt would be too short. Thank you.

Not with the front. That make the belt shorter. With the rear yes. I'd be willing to bet you probably could with both front and back that setup should put the rear wheel about in the same spot as stock.

On the other hand a front sprkt with a 200 and new (longer) belt would cost less than a front with rear sprocket. Especially if you need the tire.

At least that's what I'm thinking for the wife's bike.

I lost some pep coming out of first, but I knew would happen but I was willing to accept the trade off on the other end. Last night, on the way home from work, I ran her harder than normal just too she how she responds. When I EVENTUALLY shifted into 5th (@70MPH) the RPMs were definitely lower then before the mod. I did notice however, that when cruising at that higher speed, if I went to full open throttle, it took a bit longer for the speed to increase. Again, another trade off I'm willing to accept.
For my style of riding, I am very pleased with the end result. A little less torque initially but a more smoother and cleaner ride at higher speeds/rpms.

Thanks for the write up. I will be looking forward to future updates. With just the front pulley did you get the dreaded belt whine? If so has the rear installation helped with that? I have grown accustomed to the whine but would love to get rid of it while keeping the reduction of high speed engine buzzing.
