Exclamation mean streak hard krome sideburner backfire on engine break problem

Help!

I have had major backfire issues since installing my hard krome 2into1 sideburner pipes! All else is stock on bike except removal of smog setup using coasters/reed valve deleters (read that factor reed valves cause backfire that is much more noticeable without stock pipes). I have checked my pipe install over and over, checking tourqe.... Still backfires like shotguns going off on deceleration....

~~~~~~~~~~~
Bought powercommander usb version.... no stinking maps for hard krome setup..... using stock map from dyno jet.... works 50% better for backfire than 0 map (actual stock settings)... What am I to do??? Any body know of a map that might work for me???
1st post... sorry if this has been addressed previous!!!
PS. Im a new convert to Cruizer class.... been a crotch-rocket bandit for 11+ years!
Might want to check the gasket seal on the coasters. Just something else to check.
Thumbs up
This map is for stock air and HK strippers. Should get you close, I'm 99% sure it'll be better that the one you're running. Good luck.
Try the one I put out there under kawi for cobra pipes on the PC site ... It worked pretty well with my HK 3" drag's until I got the Thunder Box on ... Still was a little pop coming down from a hard roll but seemed good for general use ... Besides if you don't like it just lay the zero or current map back over it.
Other than that ... Dyno my man. 300 bones at your fav dealer
I had a similar problem when I installed the Muzzy pipes. For me it ended up being that I was getting air in the system. I rechecked the reed valve coasters for a tight seal. I also cleaned and replaced the stock header gaskets for the pipes. Made sure that the contact surface between the pipe header, the gasket and the exhaust port wall were flush. Torque the screws to make sure they are tight. Have not have problems since.
Megastreak: you need to richen the mixture at 0 degree throttle setting, that is the position of the throttle when backfire occurs. But first, be sure the PCIII is tuned to your throttle position sensor by connecting your laptop, starting your bike, and let it warm up. Once the idle speed has stabilized, check that the throttle position is actually "0". If not, open the drop down menu "Power Commander Tools" and select "Set Throttle Position". Go ahead and reset it to zero and close that window.
Next select "Get Map" on the general screen. Then go to engine speeds and 0 throttle opening points 1250 through 3000 RPM and set them 10 points higher than they currently read. Go ride and see if this stops the pop. It should be markedly better. If you need more, go higher in 5 point increments starting at 1500 through 2500 RPM (this will smooth the transition).
That should fix it for ya.
FAT-TASTIC!
I will try all that was suggested 4 sure! I have already tested with every CD map and download from www.powercommander.com . I will double check my coasters, header gaskets, re-test the attached map, and trick out the low side of my map like suggested.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Just got a test map from DynoJet direct! I attached the turkey to this post,,, looks like a winner for combating decel popping??

Thanks again everybody!!!

15% fuel is being added from 1750-5750 @ 0% throttle for those of you that don't have the powercommander software. So Dynojet did the same thing T-man recommended. Glad it worked out for you.

Only thing I would disagree with is the 0 setting at 1500 RPM...would make more sense for that setting to be 10% more fuel.

T-man

Used you advise on my bike. No more back-fire. Thank You.

PS Is there anywhere a Power Comander novice can go to get information such as what you supplied in your post? The Power Comander web site has very little information available. Thanks Again, Jeff
