Default reducing vibration

Ok, so my 900 is getting to be about perfect. The only thing I want to do now is see if I can reduce the intensity of the vibrations I get. I ordered some floorboards, but haven't mounted them yet, and a mustang seat.

For those who have done these mods, did these help?

I mainly get "the tinglies" in my feet, not my hands, and I have iso-grips on anyway.

What else can I do?

How many miles do you have? The engine smooths out quite a bit starting at about 1000 miles.

Almost 4k. I think it has gotten rougher since I got it (when it had 3k miles)

The Scootworks pulley seems to be a popular choice for lowering the rpm and the vibrations at freeway speeds. You might want to check them out.

Do your boots have Vibram soles? They helped mine quite a bit.

I have vibram soles also on my boots, and the vibration is minimal at speed. I have the 900 Classic with the floor boards, and actually Steve has a point, don't press so hard on the boards... I also noticed that my right heel sometimes was up against the heat guard on the pipe, as soon as I shifted my right foot just an inch to the right on the floorboard (away from the heat guard), everything felt way smoother... really- it made a huge difference. I hadn't realized my heel was up against the heat shield of the pipe until a couple of months ago, made all the difference in the world - stupid, I know, but it is what it is Perhaps you're inadvertently doing the same thing with the heat shield, or shifter, or brake?

I have 15K on my 08 and vibes settled down (abit) after about 4K...I run the Scootswork pulley, have the Mustang seat and HD Riding Boots.. There is no getting away from the vibes unless you buy a different bike....The 900 is a high revving small engine. Its part of the package. Even with my Mustang seat I still feel vibes in the seat, which I must say was disappointing..

I started with a Suzuki C50. Very nice bike but it too was "buzzy" at highway speeds.

Traded it in on my '08 Nomad and I'm still smiling.

Kury ISO floorboards, synthetic oil helps smooth things out also.

Test ride a Harley, you will feel much better about your "vibes".

Test ride... I traded for one. Honestly it's a smooth ride when you're on the move. Sitting at a light though, she'll rattle your fillings. Blue loctite is my friend.

My son's HD 2005 1200C Sporters runs smoother at 80 than my 900 does.. ya, it shakes pretty good at an idle but it is real smooth moving down the highway..Rubber mounting the engine really helped the HD.
