Default "New" 2008 1500 Classic pricing

Great forum!! Question for you pros...

Ran across a zero miles 2008 1500 Classic at a dealer and am seriously considering it. Can't seem to get the price below $7,999.00 - should I go for it? If so, would I be too hopeful to think they might throw in a windshield to win my business?

For comparison's sake, I got my '08 900 for $7750 out the door. Like Blue said, if that's out the door ****** it. You'd be getting a great bike plus 600 more cc's!

    That's a steal! My 900LT was $8K even OTD in Jan. 08.

That's a great price, the 1500 has always been a good value since the 1600s came out, but that's a steal. Up here in Canada (where bikes cost quite a bit more than in the US), you typically pay about $10/cc. So my meanstreak, a 1600, was $16,000. The 1500s have been selling for $12,000C, which is a great price, but converting your $7,999 to Canadian is $9,539.61.

Buy it now before someone else does.

Cruiser Magazine just did an article on best $10k bike regardless of cc's. They mentioned that if the 1500/1600s were still made in '09 they might have won the prize.

That's a great price! Snag it now or someone else will. I paid $8300 OTD for my 2007 just one year ago.

I want to thank you all for the input to my new bike search but I ended up going a little different route.

Found a really nice 2004 1500 Classic that already had the usual additions (pipes, windshield, bags) with very low mileage and priced to move.

Drove out to get it and rode it home 2 hours Saturday night and, weather permitting, have been out every day since. Sure is a different riding experience than my 2000 Yamaha V-Star 650!

By the way, we call him Carl...Carl the Classic
