    Default question installing passenger floorboards!!!

There is a short collar and a long collar.they state which side of the bike it is on BUT which side do they refer to as the left????? Would that be when your sitting on it facing forward or what.??sounds stupid i know but i would hate to put them on the wrong side as far as the spacers are concerned. They are the oem ones.I did not know that I had to put them together either.I would have thought they would come ready to mount.Hope the little springs and ball bearings aren't tough to put in!

The long ones go on the exhaust pipe side. (Right side) You only need 3 hands for the springs and ball bearings. Actually, they're not that hard to put in. You just have to kind of put them all together and slide them into the mount all at once. It was easier than I expected when I finally tried it that way.

CarGuy, I had the same thing, needed 3 hands for the springs & ball bearings. I put a towel on the floor so when I tried and missed the first 3 times the little neoprene ball bearing didn't go bouncing away out of sight.

There on!!! It was a piece of cake.Went right on the first time. The only thing is when they are in the up position they seem to be rather sloppy but real positive click on the down position.Do they rattle when riding or move around?????

So True!!! I did the same thing with an old bed sheet. I still had one roll off the but luckily the invisable magnet God didn't pull it under anything. I found it in the open on the garage floor about 3 feet from where it rolled off the sheet.

I noticed the same thing when I installed mine but I haven't noticed any rattling while riding. Could be that the noise of the bike and the use of a helmet hides any noise. They stay up when up, and my wife LOVES them while riding.

I think it is play in the pin that goes thru the holder.I could put a sleeve or something over it if I hear them rattle but I havent had it out since the install.I told my wife they were for her and I also bought her a new hjc IS-33 helmet which should be in today! She's getting expensive for a pillion!!! LOL.
