V2K Trike would be cool!!! and I wouldnt need a trailer. When (not if) my knee gives up the ghost and I cannot work any longer, I believe I could ride with no problem on a trike.

My across the street neighbor has a couple modified Harley trikes. Him and his wife both ride trikes. I think I saw one regular bike there one day, but then over the weekend it magically turned into a trike.
I know there are quite a few trikes out there these days, but it would be an interesting topic on this forum. If it were at no cost to you, or even if it did cost you, would you put a trike kit on your bike?
I'm sure there are several reasons for both sides, but just speak your mind.

More Harleys wave to me now that I have a fairing.

I've noticed more than a few Gold Wing trikes(probably $$$$$$) on the road pulling trailers.

Only if I couldn't ride on two wheels.
Hopefully that doesn't happen until my time is almost up anyway...

Like the others, if/when my knees go out and I can't hold up a bike I'd ride a trike in a heartbeat. If I was given one now I'd ride it but I wouldn't replace my bike for a trike.

Yeah, when I get to the point (and with my arthritis knees it shouldn't take long) where I can no longer ride a regular bike, I'd much rather ride a trike than ride nothing. But that's the only way I'd ride on.
In memory of my friend Deron Harden. Life isn't going to be the same without him.
I seem to agree with everyone else. When I get to old to hold the bike up, I would go with a trike. Better to be on 3 wheels then on on 4. If I was given 1 now I probably wouldn't use it that much. I like the nimbleness of 2 wheels
I think I'd add a hack first.

A trike is still "in the wind", but I'd rather drive a convertible cage.
Trike's handling is completely different... they certainly are not canyon carvers, even the Goldwings.
Their construction is split-personality. The front end wants to countersteer, but the rear end won't allow it, so you are forced to steer it like a cage.
This results in understeer and higher front tire wear.
If I am ever unable to ride on 2 wheels, I'll build one of the big "classic" 60s style trikes using a VW, Porche, or Corvair rear section.

I'm already pretty arthritic and not getting any younger, so if anyone wants a '08 Vulcan 900 Custom with only 5K miles on it and under warranty till 2010, I'll take a trike (lol).

I'm with the majority on this- when it gets to the time when a 2 wheeler is too much I'll look into getting a trike.

I saw this the other day.... Trigg Trike Kits, Trikes For Less, Trike Conversion Kit, Motorcycle Trike Conversion, Motorcycle Trike Kit, Trike Kit, Trike Conversion Kit" interesting....sorta like training wheels...it just bolts on around your existing rear wheel....
If/when I get too old to 2-wheel, I think I'd try a Spyder. The big 3-wheelers just don't appeal to me.

Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana.
A trike is in the plans for sometime in the future as I have destroyed my left ankle pretty throughly and my arthritis will certainly have an effect on my riding sooner or later. A trike would be better than giving up riding, that's for sure.

Why do supposed professionals tell you something is a law, and when you check its not?
If I can't ride on two wheels, I think I would just buy a nice convertible car before getting a trike. I had a bad experience with a three wheel bicycle that scarred me mentally for life. Every time I see a trike or a mailbox I get all freaked out.
I think trikes are cool. Whether it's a factory trike or a kit or a homemade VW engine and tranny ,I hope to have a trike in the future .
I would not go trike. If I can't ride a bike, I'll build myself a nice convertible cage to play in the wind with.
