Default Homemade sissy bar w/ pic

7/8" stainless tubing sissy bar didn't like anything on the market so I attempted my own.

I was thinking about doing the rims, lower forks, upper triple tree, handle bars, sissy bar and a few other things in black powder coat.

Looks good...but how are you mounting it? Looks like sitting on fender right now.

Love that bike, and nicely done. Hope it all works out good for ya! Rename the bike "The Impaler".

I welded T-nuts on the inside of the tubes, and is bolted through the fender. It's very sturdy

Thank you. I bought a tubing roller and a tubing notcher from Harbor freight. I found a tig welder that plugs into my stick welder and had my brother-in-law show me a little about tig welding. Rolled alot of scrap steel before the final product.

Dude, some people have all the fun... if you don't mind giving more information on your tools that would be nice.

However... it takes a visionary to make something like that. Nice work!

Awsome work. Back when the mills were running alot of the guys here would make their own sissy bars. Most were twisted 1/2 inch steel. But everyone would add something at the top to make it their own design. Also getting them chromed was cheap back then.

Is it made of solid a bar? Looks real good, I like that design you came up with.

DUDE! You should totally use the bottom angle/pointy bit to mount a tail light!! Like even that 40's Ford light that everyone is using (and ruining my idea for using it).

It's 7/8" hollow tubing 1/8" wall thickness.

Tubing roller $150, tubing notcher $50, Harborfreight.com
Tig welder conversion kit $265 tigdepot.com
stainless tubing West Marine $80
I know all of this cost more than if I just bought a sissy bar on line somewhere but nothing looked right.

+ now you can make them all day long. Buying tools is always a good investment.
