Default uhuh!-ahah!, who's the ape???

well,

I've gone ahead, done it and I love it!

if our customs miss anything then this got to be it.

all that cluster with the drag bar style is gone now, it has a much cleaner look and feel, you're riding it in a more upright position and it does seem to bring more confidence in the way you're controlling the bike.

I can’t explain where this little bit of more leverage comes from…
I took it to the twisties last week-end and I did scrap the pegs few times, the bike seems to be easier to “switch”.
Also I find it is easier to maneuver at slow speeds.

Overall, I am very pleased with this bling and I wouldn’t go back.

The bar is a 12” Zodiac with 3” risers.
Cables are +8” from Motionpro
Brake line is from Helriser and I think is +6”

I still have to find a clip for the throttle and brake line to hold them together, I’ve seen it in a pic somewhere on this forum but I cant find it…..
And I don’t know if to bother to pull the electrical cables through ….

Good stuff. I found some chrome (well, fake chrome) cable ties at an auto parts store that I used to hold the throttle and brake lines together.

Cool.
Question for everyone with apes...do they do anything for the mirrors? Can you see behind you better with them up there?

yeah, thats a good observation, I found that you have to turn your head a lil' bit more to check the mirrors, but on the other hand it seems that you're covering more field behind you.

Nice! I'm working on obtaining some 12 or 14" HD bars from a manager at work. Said he'd give em to me for free. My bike is an 800 but would look similar to yours, I like what I see.

I switched over to apes 2 yrs ago and found the mirrors were about the same.

Once you go ape, you will never go back...................although there will always be those that poo poo apes, because of what they heard from a friend of a friend who once knew a guy that had a friend that had apes.

You know...there was this guy on a forum once...who's sister's husband once saw a guy who borrowed a bike that used to Apes on it from another guy and he said..............

Yeh, I'll concur, Apes are the ticket on a cruiser. If I ever bought another cruiser, it would be getting Ape'd right out of the box.
