Great color you got there! Try and resist the urge to purchase upgrades and modifications other than for your safety if you're going to sell this fall. It seems to be the prevailing wisdom that you won't get much return for most of your upgrade dollars. However, you might want to look at these sites (there are others) for a couple of your safety modifications...

Motorcycle Headlight Modulator - Brake Flasher - Headlight Solid State Relay

Your visibility to others will save your life and I found the install of the headlight modulator and brake flasher was very easy! Another item I've found that has helped on more than a couple of occasions is replacement of the stock horn with one that can be actually heard:

Motorcycle Air Horns : Motorcycle Apparel and Motorcycle Gear - BikerHiway

And never forget to ride like no one knows your on the road with them. Sooner or later someone will prove to you that you are invisible despite your best efforts! Be prepared, always drive defensively!

Sweet looking ride! I love the look of the 900s. They look like a much bigger bike. Ride safe

Your doing what I did when I bought mine new....practice in parking lot.
I did that the 1st night I had the bike when bought new in 2006.
After that, I rode around the back country roads (live rural and have a farm) for
a couple of weeks before I ventured out into any resemblance of traffic.
Easy and real cheap mod....get the chrome trim they use for door edge guards
and run it along the lip of the gas tank. My bike is silver and it even helps it to bring out the tank.

Lucky...
