I guess I should have remembered this from the last time I had a tire replaced because it happened again. Both times by the same tech. We have a friend in town that has great prices on tires and really goes out of his way to make sure your taken care of when we take the bikes in. 2 years ago I got a tire changed by him and all was good except a noise in the belt area. I loosened it off a tad and it fixed the noise. This time was the same thing. But the noise was alot more noticable. If I came in off the highway, it was almost unbearable. When I looked at the belt and the adjuster marks it looked like one mark was a tad forward of the other. So I loosened the belt and adjusted the tire and sure enough. The belt moved to the center of the pully and its quiet as a churchmouse now.
To bad I spent a month listening to the noise before I decided I had had enough because it took less that 1/2 hour to fix. Owell, I'll know for next time. |
