Default Pics from rides in AL this week

Rode from GA into AL this week a couple of times. Pics below from Lake Weiss and Mt. Cheaha (highest point in AL).

Lake Weiss pics

Pics from Mount Cheaha

pic of observation tower and a few pics

pic from Mt. Cheaha at the local hotel with a great view. The pic doesn't do it justice.

In the tower museum is a picture of my father in law. He worked with CCC's when the park was built, and was part of the crew that engineered the twisties up to the top of Cheaha...it's a great ride!!! My wife is especially proud of the role her dad played in building that park.

I think I caught some slab crappie at that small point of Weiss Lake in your picture. Thanks for giving us a glimpse of home.

North Alabama has some great scenery. Lake Guntersville, Little River Canyon, Noccalula Falls, the list goes on and its my favorite part Of Alabama to ride.

That looks like a great place to visit! It's only a couple hours from here, think I'll plan a camping trip...

I was Just bown in Bay Minette a few weeks back and Alabama is the most green place on the planet! The humidity almost made me choke though.

We usually add lots of sugar to a glass of iced humidity.

The humidity is tuff but for the most part, aside from the west coast, the southeastern states probably have the most biker friendly weather year round. Most of the winter the temps are in the upper 30's to mid 40's.

Yes indeed. In both places the camera really didn't capture the extent of the beauty. Maybe a wide angle lense would have helped. We rode 3-4 days last week. Great weather. Now it's back to work!

Mt. Cheaha is nice. I have family video and pics from awhile back when we went there.
STR8RZR, you in Tuscaloosa, have you been on the Natchez Trace? I have never been on it but that was a planned trip before I sold my bike.

Yeah from Ttown. Havnt done the Trace. I have a hard time doing the speed limit on the highway, would be torture on the Trace

My grandparents lived in Hartselle years ago when I was a kid. I used to run down from thier house to the train tracks to watch the trains go by. Explored the church next to thier house and tried not to be seen by the people working in there. Playing James Bond or something.

Everytime I look at pictures from that part of the USA, I marvel at the tree canopy. It looks like a massive carpet of tree cover over the entire area. Must be awesome to ride thru.
