Thanks everyone, any advantage to the Kawasaki Ones?

I put on my Cobra highway bars myself. They come with good directions. My wife helped me line them up before the first bolts went in -- tolerances were close. Took less than an hour, and well worth the time & $$. No problem with scrapint the bars while in a lean either...

ive just ordered hepco and becker for my meanie ! nice style bars check out BMW Motorcycle Spares - Motobins Ltd - Welcome not a bad price either !
They are easy to put on but a 2nd set of hands will make it even easier. The Kawi ones are not highway bars, they are smaller engine guards. Get the Cobras, you can find them for a good price and usually free shipping on the internet, or look at ebay.
Are they a must? No, but they are a nice comfort addition, when you have pegs on there to change your seating position around on long rides.

Definitely worth the money as the others have said. Another plus is with the addition of some chaps for the guards....it makes riding a lot more comfortable during the colder months.

At one point I thought I wanted to have them on the two bikes I've had. But I am glad I changed my mind and did not do it. To me they only take away from the looks of a bike, but I also feel the same way about windshields...lol. It is easy enough to mount highway pegs onto the frame if you have a need for them, I did and sometimes they are nice to have. For all those that have them, and it seems like the majority of cruiser style bikes do...glad they work for you.
Pretty happy with my Lindbe's, and the the pegs are built in.

They are a great addition. I got the cobras a few weeks ago and love the added chrome and the fact it will help protect my leg and the bike if it should ever go down. The highway pegs are next to add. Would love to stretch my legs a bit during some longer rides.

I had em on my 900 (first motorcycle ever). They saved my bike a number of times while learning slow speed maneuvering. If you tip your bike over one single time, the crash bars basically pay for themself compared to the costs of fixing and/or replacing dented tank, broken mirror, scratched up intake/pipes/etc.
I'd like to put some on my meanie, but none of them look good on it in my opinion.
Nothing makes you feel more alive than taking a bee to the face at 60 mph.. Shortie helmets rock!!
My sporty has them on the engine guards as well and I love the look of them. I'm thinking of doing that to my 900LT
Absolutely. When I bought the missus her HD I insisted on the engine guards. Both the wife and the salesman thought I could have spent the 200 bucks better. Well, about a week later, my wife dropped the bike while doing a slow speed U-turn (she grabbed the front brake). The bike had minor damage to the left mirror chrome and I had to replace her turn signal lens on the left side (given to me for free at the Big Dog dealership here). Total cost of repairs ZERO dollars and that engine guard paid for itself within a week.

I've never had them on any of my bikes, and expensive place to put additional foot pegs in my opinion and something extra to snag some you're going by.
No PORK!
They were one of the first things I added to my 1500. All they've been used for so far is a place for the pegs.
Can people post picks of their 900 custom with crash/highway bars on. I like that they serve a purpose but I'm not sold on them about the looks.
