Is that different oil than before? Is the clutch sticking or just making a loud noise? How many miles you have. Have you checked you clutch cable adjustment? Mines a little louder than it was when I bought my bike but it isnt hard to put it in or get it out of gear after 9400 miles.

Doesnt get quite that hot where I am Hopefully you can figure out whats causing these problems, im not much of a gearhead, just figured i'd ask if there was a reason behind changing oil grades away from factory spec.

The bikes dont know about index but the ambient temp around the bike a long with the heat coming off the asphault does matter. if the heat index doesnt matter neither should wind chill?

It gets pretty hot here in Texas too but I wouldn't use anything over 10-40. My first oil change I got the 20-50 and my VN900 became so loud that after like 500 miles I drained and changed to 10-40.

For me no more 20-50
and no more valvoline.

+1

I went by the dealer and asked about the switch to 20W-50. He said they have had no problems even with the heat we have been having. He did show me the new 10W-50 that Kawa has. That is what I'll be going to on my next change.

Ok the bike is still having that sticky and chunk when i put it in first gear idk what could be causing it! Sometimes it will go in fine and sometimes it will push down and the neutral light will go off but it is still not in gear

Mine always clunks like he|| going into first but then shifts like butter running through them. What- it's not supposed to? Okay, I do like my idle real high.
Did you happen to adjust that recently?
