Default 97 Vulcan Classic gas out the hypercharger

First post - Unfortunately with a big thorn in my side.
I have a '97 Vulcan Classic 1500 with Kuryakyn Hypercharger and VH Longshots. Have had problems when trying to start it fuel dumps out the hypercharger/air cleaner. Pulled and cleaned the carb, checked the floats - seemed working properly, found a bad air cut valve diaphragm and replaced it. The rest of the carb seemed clear and in good shape. Put it all back together. Fresh gas. Pushed the starter, tried to fire once and then started dumping fuel again. Any suggestions?

When did the problem start or was anything done to the bike prior to the problem

Started in the spring. Thought it might have been a gummed up carb from over the winter. Thats why I pulled and cleaned it. But nothing seemed plugged or any signs of stale fuel.

Check the bowl vent. If it goes to a carbon canister, that may be the problem. Not sure if all have the system. Disconnect the bowl vent hose and see if it cures the problem. If it does, you can replace the carbon canister........or just run a hose down to the bottom of the bike and chuck the whole system. That's what I did.

Sounds like something stuck in the needle /seat area..the floats aren`t able to shut off the gas flow into the bowl. I had a similar problem years ago with a different bike, found a piece of rust stuck in the seat so the needle couldn`t close the inlet gas.
If you can hook up a hose to the gas inlet of the carb try blowing into the carb. If you can blow air(lung power, not compressor) in with the float up all the way, then there is either something in the way,or the seat is bad. If you can`t,then maybe you just need to bend the tab to make the float shut the gas off at a lower level..
Hope this helps, check back and let us know how you make out.
By the way, welcome to the forum, and post up some pics of your bike-we all wanna see..
One more thing- check that gas didn`t get past your rings and contaminate the oil..
