Do you like to ride alone?
In large groups? Small groups? I'm just curious. I like all, it just depends on my mood. Sometimes I just want to go for a ride where I want to go and not be gone all day. Sometimes I have all day and don't mind the longer group rides. Then again some times the group rides are so disorganized I wish I'd of headed out alone. LOL |

Like you, it all depends. Most of my riding is done in groups ranging anywhere from 2 to 10 bikes. My alone riding is usually to and from work. Most of the people I ride with I've known for years and we're all comfortable riding with each other. I love the camradarie of riding with friends, stopping for coffee, shooting the breeze etc...

I hate the semi-organized Poker Runs and what not...too many dangers from those with little or no riding experience.
I prefer just a few - two to five - but I usually go solo because my schedule simply does not fit others' schedules.

Yeah, my schedule is usually not the best for other riders. I rarely ride after work just because I have too much stuff going on. And my weekend rides I like to get up at the crack of dawn and head out before the traffic gets heavy and so I have enough time to do what I need to do at home.

The answer I would have to give is "both" but at different times and for different reasons. I like the freedom of riding alone. I also like companionship and sharing. I don't care for big groups on a ride lasting more than an hour.

My favorite is riding with my wife, just the 2 of us, exploring the back roads. I don't mind a small group, 4-5 bikes. We do some bigger rides, 12-16 bikes once in a while, usually a planned group ride with her riding group. I don't do the massive rides with a bunch of riders who I don't know.
Sometimes it's good to get out by yourself too, but I prefer being with someone else in case something happens.

Most of the time I like to ride with the club. once or twice a year I do the big runs, like yesterdays Walt Gray ride for the make a wish foundation.
I like riding with the club becuase someone always knows something about where we are at and knows some good places to see. The big groups are a pain, but as an MC we need to get out and show our faces and give our support to the community, otherwise we'd just be another rooster stroking club. |

Onesies, and Twosies, and maybe Foursies....that's how I like it.
75% of my riding is done with me and my wife. We ride in a similar "spiritied" style, know exactly how each other ride, and how each of us will react to most situations. With the exception of a few close friends I don't have much interest at all in riding with other groups.

Rarely ride with more than 1-2 other motorcyclists. Have more fun riding with a friend on V-Strom than I do with friends on cruisers as their pace is too slow for me out on the winding backroads.
Generally speaking, the larger the group, the slower the place. Might as well charter a bus with a wet bar. It's nice doing breakfast/lunch/dinner rides with friends as well as pie runs and get togethers for a cold one or two. Road trips lasting at least one night are even better. My wife doesn't ride with me all that much. She enjoys it, but has other priorities.

Mostly just me. Between work, wife and kids, it's great just to jump on the bike and go on a Sunday morning, to whatever destination I feel like..
Bike shows or other events, I'll link up and ride with a few friends. |

For me it all depends on my mood, although I usually ride with at least one to 4 other riders. That said, I do enjoy at times just me and my gps and do some exploring, not knowing where I'll end up, and take it from there.
I really do not like LARGE groups though, cause it's hard to get everyone on the same mental wave length on where to go, how many stops to make, etc etc, so I do my best to stay away from that sort of ride, although it could occasionally happen for the right cause. Yup, alone or with a few other that I get along extremely well with, is definitely my kind of ride. Organized rides can be soooo boring in my opinion. Unrehearsed rides, riding with the breeze to no particular destination is much more fun in my book.

Like most, it depends. About the only time I ever ride alone is when I commute on the bike which isn't too often. About 90% of my riding is done with Crysti (she has her own scoot). Other than that, I have no issues with larger groups if I know the riders have experience. I tend avoid any sorts of bar runs, though.
