    Default fouled plugs

    You are NOT going to believe this. I went to my local bike shop today to pick up the supplies needed for my oil, final drive and coolant changes. I also wanted to pick up a set of spark plugs, 2 to bring on the trip and 2 as spares for when I need to change my plugs.

    Anyway, I had no plans to change the plugs tonite but while unpacking the bag of goodies, I decided to open a box and look at the plug. Guess what? the dang thing is used! Thats right, its full of carbon soot and obviously had a few miles on it. WOW, I say, so I grab another box and open it, guess what?

    Can't believe what I am seeing, so I HAVE to look at box 3, well?

    Reach down for box 4 and wouldn't you know it? ALL 4 BOXES had old used up plugs. Good thing I checked them out hey?

    Moral? Open & inspect what you can while at the counter and don't take it for granted.

    I've never heard of the plug companies testing the plugs before selling them!!! LOL

    actually the plug companies do pull a percentage of plugs to have random testing done for quality control numbers BUT I'm not of the thinking that they would use them up, smudge them up and leave about 2 minutes of life on them.

    Did someone behind a counter give you those plugs or were you able to grab them yourself? Very odd that they were used!

    man at the counter went and pulled them from the back shelves. I'm thinking that the service department made a mix up and or the clean up crew made a mistake and tossed out new ones and picked up old ones.

    I have bought plugs for my dirt bike before that were gapped really bad, I just figured that someone bought them and tryed to gap them and returned them when they saw hey had screwed them up.
