Default nice stock pipe mod on 900 se

I saw this 900 se at a local spot last weekend. the owner had cut down the stock pipes and lowered the rear a few inches. I thought it looked pretty sweet!

I like the way the modded pipe ends right past the rear axle.
On the custom, it looks much cleaner than the stocker.

I am strongly considering doing this mod....Did anybody else notice that the pipes are hanging? He removed the bracket and the rear foot pegs. Still looks great. should I just sawzall it off?

i think the pipes are still mounted. you cant really see the rear mount anyway, it pretty tucked behind the pipes. the reason the pipes arent more inline with the rear axle is the bike has been lowered.

I see a screw back there at a weird angle, like its holding something.
I bet if you looked closely behind the pipes they are mounted back there for support.

that screw at the odd angle is the screw that holds that heatshield to the muffler can. i think the stock mount is in place, they just look low cause the rear is slammed.
