Could you imagine trying to get a "White Bike Week" going like "Black Bike Week"? We'd be sued!

While I agree with you, here could be the end of the thread.

I thought of that after I posted. I was just thinking that an all white bike club is automatically looked at as some sort of skin heads or KKK members but an all black club is just a club for black guys. LOL

I ride with the American Legion Riders. We all did our prospecting time in Viet Nam, Iraq, or Afghanistan so to speak. We are all combat vets and a prouder, tighter bunch of brothers would be hard to find. The territory we claim? The entire United States of America. We've proudly fought for her. We are recognized as deserving of this honor and our "American Legion Riders" patch is accepted everywhere by every MC. This has been agreed to through conference between our national leadership and the leadership of MC's through out the country. We ride everything. We have metrics and HD's and others. Everyone who rides, is a combat vet, and is a member of the American Legion has earned the right and is welcome to join.

Have any of the White Only traditional or outlaw Clubs been sued? Hmm, let me think...no. Black Bike Week came about because during less enlightened times black riders were made well aware that their presence was not appreciated during the traditional Bike Week. Hence also the reason for Black Only Clubs coming about in response to the White Only Clubs. The philosophy being, "If we can't participate in theirs, we'll make our own." Again, as has been discussed before, there are rules in the MC world. They are not there to be loved, only followed. If you want to be a part of it, you have to live by them or be run over by them...

You are obviously lost in what was being said. It had nothing to do with black or white clubs. It was just that someone said a club was all whites and another person just assumed they where racist.

I understand your point, but you can thank the white folks in the past for that. The reason its not acceptable is the difference in context. I think the whole racial pride thing, in and of itself, is stupid regardless of who it is. However, when other (non-white) people started using the pride statements (i.e. black pride, hispanic pride, [ or gay pride which isnt racial] etc.) it was/is because they were/are being looked upon by the "majority" as being inferior. So they are saying "these people are saying i'm not as good as them because i'm (insert minority), but I'm proud of who I am." When the white folks expressed "white pride" throughout history, it was "i'm proud to be white because that makes me better than you." Do you see the difference in context? If you dont, unfortunately I dont know any other way to make it simpler.

Also, i'd be willing to bet that one of the main underlying factors of why there is an all black MC (i.e. the Dragons) is because before that there where black dudes riding motorcycles that wanted to be in an MC and the existing MC's wouldnt allow them to become a member because of the color of their skin. I dont have a way to prove that, but thinking about it logically based on history, I'd bet money that that was the case.

People are people, regardless of skin/hair/eye color, physical features, etc. Thinking one person is better than another based on physical charactoristics like race, is like thinking an american rottweiler is is better than a german rott. They're both dogs. They look a little different due to different breeding lines, but other than that, they're the same.

You know what people I hate..? Stupid people. ..and they come in all colors, shapes, and sizes.

Sorry Bumper combat vet is not a requirement anymore, AM Leg changed the rules and the Riders came along. I am joining my local Am Legion Post but will need to join the Riders in another city and then petition to start a another post. I was stationed at Reese from 87-91, not sure if that is why you are in Lubbock or not. I closed down the Fuels yard when it went contract i was one of the last USAF fuels troops.

+1 Most clubs that are considered black are really racially mixed with most of their members being black. There is a difference between a club being all white (which is just circumstance) and club requiring its members being white which the 1% mcs do. I don't know of any clubs that eliminate someone because they are white. This includes a (black) 1% club like the Chosen Few which is really racially mixed but started by black dudes.

Ummm, this might not be the place for this question, but what's a 1% club? Man, I can already see that I've got A LOT to learn! LOL
