I honestly think the next craze is going to be cheap custom built bikes. There are a lot of back yard bike builders that are starting to do some nice stuff and do them pretty cheap. As they are getting more known I see them starting to sell more. Guys like guilty Customs and stuff that can make you a sweet custom one off bike for under $30,000 and you won't look like everyone else and you'll have the same payment as the HD rider next to you. There was also a builder featured in Cycle Source in the last month or two that was building really nice rides for $15,000 and under.

Although last year I was reading a biker magazine on the flight down to Florida and they predicted custom trikes being the next craze. I've yet to see one around Detroit but when we go tot Dayton we saw a TON of custom trikes at Biketoberfest.

I'd love to see some charts on sales numbers for various types/styles of bikes over the past 5 years to see where trends are going. It appears that standards are coming back, but that's just based on some new models I've notices, and no statistical evidence.

I really want to test ride one, I have sat on a few and the fit is perfect for me. The only problem is I like to travel around 2 up and need to carry gear and stuff.

i would rather buy a KAWASAKI and save the money for extras...Honda bikes are like Honda cars, refined but over priced

Actually I dont think the Fury is that over priced at about 13-14k. Certainly not like an Accord

I think Kawi will probably come out with a custom based on the 1700...that's where I would bet money anyway...

Don't knock Honda autos until you've driven one...they just work without breaking for the most part. Very reliable cars and compared to Toyota a bargain IMO.

No one can knock the quality of either Toyota or Honda, they are priced in the same range as their American counter parts, tariffs ensure that.

I would be glad if they kept the Meanie alive, but if they do, i hope they revamp the body style a bit. I'd like to see something a bit more aggresive looking. I mean, I love my meanie, and they are very nice looking bikes, but if its gonna be called a "Mean Streak", and be marketed as a "power cruiser", i think they should give it at least a little bit of an aggressive look.

Personally.. i'd prefer the next Streak (if there is one) to encorporate 4 cylinders..

Apparently you can't say that so much about Toyota recently. Their quality stigma has taken a hit recently with all of the recalls.

Nice looking bike, and if I had that kind of disposable cash, sure I'd get one. That's assuming I had already run through my list of "other bikes" I'm going to own for at least a short time, just for the experience of riding them.

Over here, its called the Honda CTX 1300, in the States you call it Fury.
Honda is weird that they call the same bike something else in the Euro market. Like the Fireblade.

Really? You think it looks like the Rocker? I like how the Rocker has the swing arm mounted fender though. That is what the Fury needed to get rid of the huge fender gap in the rear.

IMO, I don't think they look anything alike. Similar maybe, but still different. I've sat on both and liked the Fury much better. At 6'1" I dwarfed the Rocker. The fury felt great. Besides, HD dropped the Rocker for 2010.

Are you serious? What on earth is there in that bike that would warrent a price like that? Kawi can make a 1500 classic for 10 grand. there's a lot more parts to manufacture in that than the fury. At least I would think so. I mean, what is there to it that would raise the cost that much?

I'm sure the cost is based simply on the 'looks cool' factor..

That's one of the reasons I like my Connie, and I think more manufacturers should follow that formula. I don't need the latest race components, nor do I have to be the fastest bike on the road. What I want is a strong motor, reasonable braking and suspension, and longevity. Bikes just don't have to cost as much as they do.

The Bandit 1250 is a good example.....
