Default patriot guard is inspiring

We had another funeral yesterday for a Soldier killed in Afghanistan (I'm an Army National Guard Chaplain).
It was over in Sault Sainte Marie, MI.
Mid-to-upper 30s, wind and light rain.
Sure enough, the Patriot Guard showed up.
They were in the motorcade from the funeral home to the gym.
Then they stood at every entrance of the school, holding large flags and protecting the public viewing time and funeral.
They stood there with minimal breaks for more than eight hours.
Two even escorted us back to the funeral home after the service.
I was very impressed.

I know there are several PG members on this forum.
Thank you for serving our fallen military personnel and their families.
Again, thank you.

Thumbs up patriot guard is inspiring

your so right, I've seen them ride in the rain , snow, and just plain nasty weather. I've seen them at deployment ceremonies, homecoming ceremonies, and unfortunately bringing a fallen hero home.

I watched the documentary "God's Solider" a very chilling insight to the stresses that the Army Chaplains deal with in the combat zone. The men and women they serve with are blessed to have them there with them.
And as we approach Veterans day let us remember that "To those who defend it freedom has a ring the protected cannot hear" Having served 23 years myself and now a son with the 101st those words carried me through many a hard time. Thank you for your service and thank you to those who support those hear hear the ring.

For those of us in the PGR, the honor is ours. It's the least we can do for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

I have only had the honor of participating in 1 PGR ride out here in Hawaii, but what a moving experience that was. Not that I look forward to doing those rides, but it will always be an honor if the need arises in the future.

I am humbled by it every time I stand the flag line and escort the fallen. The Honor is all mine. It's a small price to pay for those that have paid it all!

To the PGR, we see it on the news over here in Australia, the pride and respect that is shown is just so very patriotic. No matter what you feel about any conflict, it is just so very moving to see that support.

Well done to those that provide such a guard to those that have sacrificed.
