Default V2K left grip removal

When removing the stock left grip on a V2k does the end cap screw off or do you just cut the whole grip off? I have read that the cap is on with left handed treads, but then I have read other posts saying you just cut the whole thing off.

The bike is an 06 2000 LT.

Weekend project!

the left hand screws off first, then you can just remove it. Dan

I just cut mine off, I didn't see anywhere it would screw off.

The left end cap screws off. There are threads on the end of the bar.

+1 mine fell off once, thankfully just in a parking lot so it didn't go to far and I found it again no problem....and just screwed it back on

Mine is probably different, but the cap screwed off (on pretty tight with thread lock - put a wrench on a screwdriver to unscrew it). Then the grip was glued to the tube that fits around the bar and holds the cable ends. I had to cut the grip to get it off the tube.
