2012 Odometer Race Official Thread

I have barely ridden this year. My part time job is killing my riding since I seem to work an awful lot and on the weekends too (I have to find a full time M-F job again). Doesn't pay to ride to work as it would take more time to gear up than the ride itself.

You're lookin' at it wrong, then. The direct route from my place to work is one and three-quarters miles. Not even enough to start to charge up the battery. But I can usually put on 20 miles or more on the way in. Just have to leave a bit earlier, is all.

This happened this morning on the way to work:



Took 23 months, 2 weeks. Not bad, considering Vermont winters.

2,500 for the race, so far.

Woo Hoo! almost at 8500 miles on the new bike! That puts me around 6800 for the race so far. Just had 2 big trips over the last 11 days. a 2300 mile trip out west then a 3 day 1K mile trip around WV!! This new Victory has been awesome!!!

Almost 4,000 for the race at this point. Not too shabby, considering that I haven't really gone anywhere. This is all just dinkin' around mileage. Four weeks of vacation still coming. Now, if I just had more $$$ for gas...

I'd love to play, but I don't have a pic of starting mileage....my bike was new on 3/27 and I didn't get to actually start riding for about a week due to liscensing and such...any chance I can get in?

Absolutely! It's never too late to join in. Just take a pic now and that will be your starting miles for the race. It's a bit of a disadvantage but what the heck, join the party!

Check the earlier posts in this thread, you'll need the starting word in your picture. VICTORY, I think it was. Get a pic, and jump right in. There's no winners or losers in this, and no prize money. Just friendly competition and another incentive to ride instead of caging it.

I didn't catch this because I don't check the forums a lot, but I keep track of my mileage religiously, can I post a picture w/ my log book and an April 01 date from purchasing fuel to be able to enter?
