Default Removed EPA stuff 800a

I've been told I dont follow instructions very well so here I am posting what I did. Y'all let me know if I did it right.

1.Removed the switch valve's "T" shaped hose from each valve cover and replaced it with a single hose conecting the two valve covers.

2.Removed the vacuum line from the carb to the switch valve to the fuel petcock. Installed a single line from the carb to the fuel petcock.

3.Removed the hose from the switch valve to the back side of the air filter housing. Pluged the back side of the air filter housing.

4.Threw the switch valve as far as I could.

Now on cold starts I noticed the engine runs a little rough but after she warms up she runs fine. I also noticed NO MORE POPING.
Before I pat myself in the back y'all let me know how I did.

That's the way I did mine, but instead of replacing the line from carb to petcock, I just plugged the nipple. I'll replace with single line later though.

And I kept the switch valve, just in case.

Well, I put the switch valve back on. Yesterday morning before I turned her on I took the air filter cover and seen what appeared to be gas on the air filter housing. It had a hard time turning on so I just put every thing back the way it was.

That had nothing to do with the switch valve. Maybe a stuck float or something. Have you adjusted the pilot screw?

No sir, I haven't adjusted the pilot screw. I rode it yesterday and today and it seems to be alright. Doesn't idle rough anymore.

You may have had a vaccum leak somewhere. It doesn't help performance any with it removed anyway, just stops the popping, and helps it run cooler. Opening the pilot screw would help some, they are set very lean from the factory.

I agree with blue. The epa cr*ap has nothing to do with your gas leak problem .If you think putting it back on the bike took care of your problem you'll find out in the future when you have the leak again. I hope you don't have the problem again but don't be surprised if you do.
