Vulcan final drive explosion

I have a 2004 Vulcan 750 that I bought 5 months ago and I love it! I use it mostly for getting around the city. This weekend I took my wife on a day trip out to Montauk about 250 miles round trip and I pushed the engine pretty hard on the highways. When I got home I noticed that it looked like grease had exploded out of the left side of the drive shaft all over the rim. I'm not a mechanic but I am trying to learn about my bike and take care of it myself. I can't find much about this on the internet and the manual doesn't explain this problem very well.I found your forum and thought that I could ask for some help / advice on what I need to do or look for.
Thanks so much for any help!

It's oil not grease and I'd guess you are in need of a new seal.
