Its true, i'd hate to see another grey hair on your head when your fussing about only having .533 gallons left at midnight in the middle of montana with no gas station in sight.

Someone needed to be concerned since we were in nowhere land and not a building in sight. Remember, we already stopped at that little place and NO GAS so on we went wondering who was going to run out first. I think my worrying got us to the gas quicker.

All I need to purchase is 2 of the above kits

I'm a goober when it comes to using a wrench & don't want to dork up anything

Does this mod require any change to the computer, ya are always reading about how a increase in air will cause the bike to run lean & need a new computer chip to run better.

Joe, it really is pretty simple, check out the sticky in the cruiser section, for soldering a resistor into the temp sensor to trick the fuel computer into adding more fuel, if you dont have a add on system, it will work ok. man its to bad your not closer or I would come out and do it for you.

yes you need to buy 2 of the kits, I got mine from the local Carquest auto parts store, and a resistor from Radio Shack a resistor between 600 and 1000 ohms. I didnt do the resistor mod as I have a fuel computer

Have not touched a solering iron since High School back in 1980, no way I'm going to try and soder something on the bike as more than likely I'll burn it to the ground

Guess I'll just skip this mod & keep her stock

you wouldnt have to solder it, you could use heatshrink butt connectors, I use those quite often when I bypass the older theft deterent PASSKEYII on GM cars, when the wire to the key cylinder breaks, I just butt connect the proper resistance resistors together to fool the computer into thinking that it has the proper key resistance.
After they are connected I just use my heat gun to melt the sealing aspect of the connectors and you have a vibration proof and weatherproof seal.

If not, I could do it for you up in Red Lodge, woild take me only 15 minutes and I bet that Jim would let us use a soldering iron or wiring pliers
