Meanstreak Engine Swap

Hi all, will make this quick, I have a 2005 VN1600 Meanstreak with a knacked Engine, so the question is, will a VN1500 Meanstreak engine fit? while I am at it, if anyway has the knowledge, what engine variations would fit in the 2005 VN1600 Meanstreak frame.
thank you for reading and any advise you can give.

Partzilla has parts diagrams with a cross-reference. I would compare the frames, crankcase set, mufflers, etc.
From a quick check, without verifying the info at, the 2002-08 VN1500/1600 models had the same crankcase.

When relying on the x-ref at partzilla, I always double-check at
to make sure the donor model part is the same.

Vulcan gadget. The vulcangadget fixit page has a bunch of info for the 1500,
but I don't know if there's anything about an engine swap.

The bigger question would be in connecting the systems. There could be differences in the wiring harness required between the two engines and if 1500 sensors, etc. are compatible with 1600 ECU. I could see some headaches there.

What is wrong with 1600 engine?
