when and if you ever do the engine mod... youll love it!
I personally liked doing to okie air system using a dragtron mounting system using the k&n air filter. Its an open element design with the screen around it, chrome - looks pretty good - wish i had a nice pic for you but dont I think i gotta order up my corbin seat (dual) and see what I can do with these mavrick II bags... or just stick the bags on there and to heck with the seat - maybe i can get closed cell foam somewhere and redo my own seat? kenny

I rode all night long in Christmas Eve up here in NYC. Matter of fact..............the bike helped me pick up a fine looking woman that evening.

yea, ive never hauled anyone on my bike. when i first went to look at it, the guy wouldnt let me ride it, so he took me for a ride down and back up the mountain. now me, im a corn fed country boy comin in at 6'5 330lb(we grow em big n strong round here), and he was short and probably just as heavy and we rode. was VERY uncomfotable for me, but that bike can haul *** with that much weight on.

I just joined this site today mainly because I want to chat with other Drifter owners regarding their experience with their bikes.
I traded my Road Star a year and a half ago on a new 2004 Drifter 1500 (the last year made). My Drifter does not have quite as much punch over 90 mph but definitely has as much or more torque. I also find the comfort of my Drifter superior to my old Roadie. |

I am always looking for other Drifter owners to chat with and share experiences with. I have a couple of things I want to do to my Drifter but want to check out to see what others are doing for customizations.

I have been surfing the web in hopes to find some 4 inch pullback risers. All of the generic ones, made mainly by Highway Hawk do not look to me like they would work on my Vulcan Drifter. Has anyone installed risers and if so which brand/model worked for you???
Thanks |

you might be able to use something from a 1500 classic. alot of the parts are interchangeable i believe. might wanna check before ordering anything though, but im pretty sure the handlebars are the same.

In case any of you are interested in Pullbacks, I order my pair today at phatperformanceparts.com. They are the "Elite" made specifically for Kawy Vulcans.
I will put them on early next week, take em out for a spin and report back with the comfort review if anyone is interested. They are said to give about 2 inches rise and about 1.5 inches back. That doesn't sound like much, but I've heard that those numbers make a significant difference. Later |

Did it today my self. Actually, the milage was 2850. Tightened all the bolts as specified in the manual as well. The last service was done by the dealer at 600 miles. He used an oilfilter that I never ever heard of. Probably got them at 50 cent a piece. I used an original Kawasaki filter but used Honda 10-W40 Motorcycle Oil since the guy didn;t have Kawachem in 10W40 in stock.
Next weekend, I'll take a look at the sparkplugs as directed in the manual. That oil was real dirty..............worse than car oil. Does the wet clutch have anything to do with that?
