Default solo seat

Vulcan Matt, that is one thing about the Kaw. seats they are very comfortable. I really dont feel like i have a Dead A** when i get stop. I am going to put a back rest on mine because the better half wants to make sure that she finishes the whole ride with me and not on the AS*phalt.

Default my new seat

Silver Eagle: Thanks, I agree the solo seat looks much better, and it feels better too. I know you will enjoy your 1500 without a doubt; great bike. I took a look at yours and i really like the tan on the red. I would have taken a tan seat if it were available, but the black looks fine as well.

wv.....one of the reasons I wanted the solo seat is because the original 2-up didn't feel all that comfortable. A friend of mine sat on it and said he liked it, but I felt is was a bit too soft and spongy for what I like. This new seat seems to provide more support toward the back and it's not as soft. I'm looking forward to better weather here so I can put some miles on the new seat and give a more thorough evaluation of the situation.

Silver Eagle,

LOVE those red Drifters...
I thought only the '03's came in red; was yours re-painted? Looks great!
Where did you get your bags? The only place I've found for our bikes has been Osprey, and yours don't look like one of theirs.

Drifter dog, I'd love to know this too.....but I bought this drifter stashed out this way. It is incredible hard to find matching seats and bags in tan leather I tell you.

And yes, this one came in black and was immediately given this custom paint job with airbrushed Indian Nickel head graphics.

Hey Muneio, I happen to have a 2002 Drifter 800 seat for sale. I took mine off and put on a doub. and will get rid of it. I will sell it for 225.00 p/shipping. If you are interested let me know. Do you need the hardware also with it?

This site has been pretty quiet for awhile. I guess everybody is riding, not much time to spent posting.

Mercury, does the new light bulb generate lot of heat? Where did you buy your 80/100W bulb if I may ask you?

Thanks

hi there-
it generates more heat then the stock one... but not so much that i would be worried...

The part number is wagner BP1210/H4

get it at napa auto parts . they had to order mine

it says for offroad aux use only.... but screw it man, im on a bike and i need to see, if another driver cant deal with a little bit brighter light - its too bad.

I have a 99 1500 drifter. i notice most of the pictures of the drifters i see do not have the emission controle junk and mufler that mine has. will it be a major project to change the pipes and can i get rid of the catatlitic converter. it is fule injected so what do i do about that?

I have a 2000 1500 drifter and it has the "goat belly". I think all model years after 2000 were equiped with a goat belly. The only once I seen without it are those with after market pipes.

i have a 99 with after market pipes. it runs fine. i get getter gas mpg with the baffles out believe it or not.

as for the light bulb stuff, i put Sylvania silver stars in my head and driving lights. MUCH better. i run them in my truck too and highly recommend them

I can remove the baffle on my roadhouse brand pipe...

wonder how it would sound then - i like the amplitude of sound now, i think open pipe pretty much will be LOUD and annoying on a trip through the open areas looking for animals
