I don't think that picture is of a Drifter seat though. Looks like it goes to a regular Vulcan. |

Hi There,
can't really comment on whether the ignition improved the gas mileage enough to notice. have always got well over 40MPG anyway. Yes on curve 6 a noticeable increase in mid and upper range power and acceleration. Also with the curves I tried, 4,5 and 6, the bike starts much faster and idles more evenly, I dont use the choke now. I'm using the stock coils and wires. And No, I don't think it matters. I used to go for all of that on previous bikes and you know I never did tell the difference between stock and aftermarket. Save your money. Stock is good. Im running a 165 main, a 48 pilot (wish I could geta 50!!), mixture screw 3 turns out. Bike is just slightly lean on the bottom. If I could get a 50 pilot that would be gone. needle third from the top. There is tons of info on the Delphi Drifter Riders Forum. A really big improvement will come from opening up your intake. I took all the junk off and opened up the backing plate, made a huge differnece. With that and the Vance and Hines its breathing about as good as it ever will. Dont worry about premium gas, you dont need it. I run the lowest grade unleaded I can find and never have any problems at all. premium does not give you more power, it just burns slower and may eliminate detonation. Same in my hopped up fatboy. just regular unleaded and it has shaved heads. If I ever get the Megacycle cams I will let you know how they perform. Overall the bike is great and I will likely never sell it. I just wish I could get a lot more power out of it. Personally I think it is a much nicer looking bike than the 1500s' Not to bag on the 1500s. But thats just my opinion. here is the link to the ignition on ebay; eBay Motors: Dyna 3000 CDI Ignition Kawasaki Vulcan 800 D3K1-2 (item 380065854530 end time Apr-17-09 16:51:54 PDT) Good Luck Bruce |

Gots me an "05" Drifter 1500E that pings under hard excelleration. I put 93 octane in her cause the book says 90 or greater but It still has that clacky rocker arm sound like a car that has 200K on it except I only 3K. Would a fuel prossesor do the trick and what kind, bikes bone stock with no immediate plans to modify.
