I did 770 miles on my 800 drifter over two days. I Blew out the tank vents before leaving, and never filled passed the baffle, and had no problems with the engine dying. (two weeks ago I traveled 300 miles in one day, and the engine died a dozens times on this trip, but I did over-fill the tank in hind-sight)

Does Anyone Have A Link For A Step By Step Removal Of The Front Wheel For An 800? I Can't Find One And Im In A Bind.
UPDATE I got the front wheel off and out with the brake caliper still attached to the bike. After removal of the wheel the took the caliper off for an inspection. I'm going to change the pads now while I have it apart. How do I remove the pads and reinstall everything and the caliper back on the bike? Does the inside pad get reinstalled after the wheel is on? 1.- support the bike on a lift securely, let the front forks extend until the tire barely touches the floor 2.- remove the front caliper cover, and remove the caliper. 3.- remove the axle nut 4.- remove the pinch bolts 5.- slide out the axle shaft, and hold the speedometer gear(if an early model) 6.- lift the bike just enough to slide the front wheel/tire forward, on a drifter this could be a bit of a challenge, due to the long droop of the front fender. Instalation is the reverse, just make sure to secure the axle nut first, then the pinch bolts second, in that particular order, and it helps if you sit on the bike and cycle the front suspension down to set the forks properly. I hope this helps. |

the new pads need to be in the caliper before you re-install the caliper, first, rinse the inside area of the caliper with brake cleaner to get rid of the road grime, very carefully and use towels or rags to protect the rest of the bike, remove the old pads, one of the pads has a pin that must be removed in order to remove the pad, the pin, or bolt, has a very tiny cotter pin right by the head, that must be removed, before you can slide that pin out, retract the piston back in to the bore, all it takes is finger pressure evenly, although is a bit hard but doable. once you have the piston backed in, install the pad that goes against it, re-install the other pad, and make sure the little cotter pin is installed also, assuming that the wheel is already back on the bike, slide the caliper on to the disc, instal the mounting bolts and that's it, good luck. |

I had a bigger friend of mine on my drifter last night and the corbin seat scraped the fender when we bottomed the rear shock out... so dissapointing, its a 2000 drifter and it was immaculate till now
i emailed corbin I am upset. now i am looking at a new rear shock cause i tried to turn mine up and the adjust bolt snapped i guess this is expected with 31k miles and 9 years old? it looks like the progressive 420-1048 will fit... and i will buy through bear tooth but i need to know if it will work for sure has anybody done this shock with the drifter? kenny
